Neat Wiki feature

I was browsing Lake Erie Islands today and happened upon something interesting in Wikipedia...you can make a book (pdf) out of "stuff" you look up on there.

I guess one may want to do that, especially for research papers and such...It wouldn't be hard to make this book into a readable file on your eReaders either with Calibre....just saying :).

Anyway, here's the link!

My link will take you to my "Lake Erie Search" but you can do your own and create from there.

Nook Link

For those of you who have a Nook...Some freebies.

Note:
Most of these devices also have PC versions where you don't need their eReaders to read their books. Just download their software to your PC and read away!!!

And another....

Thanks Chuck for posting this one. I don't have a Kindle but some of my friends do...but keep in mind you can download "Kindle for PC" to read them. Enjoy!!!

Free Games for your Kindle??? Kewl!!!

Also, while I'm thinking about it...I use this program on all of my computers, it's free and works well...

Another Converter & A Favorite Site

In my email today I got a link to another converter for eBooks. I personally haven't used it so I can't comment on it. Kim Komando featured it and she always checks them out though.

For anyone who reads a lot (or even a little) and you hate to see good books go to waste...I offer this site...

You post books you are willing to part with and you earn credits for posting the first few books I do believe. Then you use your credits to get other books people have posted on the site. The only cost to you is postage (media mail) when you are sending a book to someone who has requested it from you. When you request one from someone it costs you nothing but one of your credits. I love this site and have been using it since at least 2006.

Happy Reading!!!

Potterheads

For everyone crazy about Harry Potter check this out!!!

And a write up with all the details... Wired

Welcome...

Today I'll be posting a few sites that I've been perusing for eBooks. It's by no means a complete compilation...but it's a start!

Of course I'll also be posting my favorite non-book sites, such as recipe sites, free program sites, etc. If you have any suggestions, anything to add or questions, feel free to email me! Also please alert me to any broken links so that I can remove!

Happy surfing!!!

Before I set forth my list I'll share this link with you...Not all eBooks are created equal, for instance my eBook uses ePub files. If the file you're downloading isn't the type you need and doesn't have DRM associated with it, chances are you may be able to convert it with this: Calibre
